MRV to Avaya/Cisco Console Pinout
Use the following pinout for serial communications between an MRV and an Avaya or Cisco Router console port.
- 1 → 8
- 2 → 7
- 3 → 6
- 4 → 5
- 5 → 4
- 6 → 3
- 7 → 2
- 8 → 1

One end is standard 568B, the other end is rolled, just crimp the RJ-45 upside down! Also known as a 'Rollover' cable, an original blue Cisco RJ45 to RJ45 rollover console cable has the same pinout.
Note that flat ribbon cable is recommended, as TXD/RXD on the same twisted pair (green) may introduce interference with CAT5.
On the MRV LX, use the following settings:
- Flow Control to "None"
- Banner to "None"
- Disable "AutoHangup"
- Change Prompt to empty string
