Thru-dial Services
A Thru-dial service allows callers to dial out of MerMail. They are generally made to be transparent:
- In the main menu: 'If you know your party’s extension, dial it now; or press zero for assistance.'
- The menu choice key is the first digit of the extension number, and sends the caller to the thru-dial service.
- The thru-dialer re-inserts the first digit (Left Pad) making the service appear transparent to the caller.
DN Length Fixed, Digits 4. Set the 'Suppress Prompt field' to Yes to prevent the build-in prompts from being heard.
- Callers who dial '0' are sent to the Thru-dialer’s Revert DN.
- If a bad number is dialed the caller hears: 'That number cannot be reached through this service. Please try again.'
- Callers who dial nothing will hear: 'Transferring to an attendant, one moment please”, then are sent to the Revert DN.'
