Trunk Module Line Numbering
This table is useful for finding default trunk module and cartridge (card) line numbers. Trunk module cartridge slots are numbered from left to right. With MICS 5, line numbers increment by 6 per slot for BRI card compatibility (modules 03 and 04 do not support BRI cards and so increment by 4 per slot).
Trunk expansion modules should be added from the highest fibre port down (8-3).
Example: add one trunk expansion module, with one analog loop start cartrige in slot 1, to
fibre port 8.
The lines will be identified as 49, 50, 51, and 52 (there are four ports to an analog loop
start card).
Modules will need to be disabled and re-enabled in order to be recognised by the processor - this is done in Maintenance. It is not necessary to re-start the ICS in order to add modules.
Note that when upgrading from earlier systems (which have no BRI support), the trunk module line numbering is reconfigured as shown below.
Module | Cartridge | MICS 1.0 - 1.1 | MICS 4.0 - 5.0 |
