Deciphering INI Codes

Example 1

INI000 00002000 03 22 52 00000000 01C4A78 0000000B 0007C99 1 1 00000005
DSET000 DOWN LOAD 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
INI003 000000040 000000090 00000091 00000094
INI009 000000040 000000090 00000091 00000094

Example 1 description

INI000
First line INI message. An INI took place.
INI000 00002000
Fault code. Why did the system INI? Refer to the FAULT CODES section of the System Messages Guide, INI, 553-3000-411, third page. The above Example shows that the Watch Dog timer has been outrun. In other words, the Watch Dog, a system self-diagnostics routine, did not receive a response back from something within a pre determined time.

Note: The NTP will indicate a 4 digit field. 4 times 4 is 16, a 16 bit CPU, The old Omega CPU. The above Example shows an 8 digit field. 4 times 8 is 32, the 32 bit CORE CPU. Ignore leading digits until the message matches the book.

INI000 00002000 03 22 52
Hour, Minute, Second. When the INI took place, according to the CPU clock.
INI000 00002000 03 22 52 00000000 01C4A78 0000000B 0007C99
The average technician may ignore these four fields. They indicate engineering level information that is not readily available. Have them available if you call technical support.
INI000 00002000 03 22 52 00000000 01C4A78 0000000B 0007C99 1 1
Active CPU(for dual CPU systems) and Active Clock Controller( Multi-Group systems only). A ? means that the system did not know which was active at the time of the INI.
INI000 00002000 03 22 52 00000000 01C4A78 0000000B 0007C99 1 1 00000005
HEX. What the maintenance display was on the active CPU. Ignore leading digits and look up in the System Messages Guide, HEX, 553-3000-411, Maintenance Display. HEX - 05 means that there is a problem with one of the per sig cards.
DSET000 DOWN LOAD 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
Digital set software download. Only valid immediately after a sysload. See System Messages Guide, DSET, 553-3000-411.
INI003 000000040 000000090 00000091 00000094
"Second line INI", There may be several "second line INI" messages in one INI message. See System Messages Guide, INI, 553-3000-411. INI003 means that there is a network or PE signaling fault. The codes that follow are the equipment that did not enable during the INI, presented in HEX. Ignore leading digits and look up in the System Messages Guide, HEX, 553-3000-411, Maintenance Display. 40 = Per Sig 0, 90 = Loop 0, 91 = Loop 1, 94 = Loop 4.
INI009 000000040 000000090 00000091 00000094
Another "Second line INI". This one, INI009 means "What the inactive CPU saw". The codes that follow happen to match the previous INI message. That means that the standby CPU sees the same problem.

Note: Take care not to make a very common mistake when looking up INI messages. It is common to accidentally look up second line INI messages in the fault code table and vice versa.

Example 2

INI000 00008000 10 53 32 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 0 0 00000083
DSET000 DOWN LOAD 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
