Replacing a Clock Controller
Use this procedure to replace a one of the following cards:
- QPC471 - For U.S. markets.
- QPC775 - Canadian / International markets.
- NTRB53 - All markets, replaces QPC471/QPC775
Note: Clock controllers cannot be mixed in one system.
LED | On | Off |
---|---|---|
Disabled | Enabled | |
Active | Inactive |
Only one clock controller is active at a time, indicated by a Green LED.
If both LED's are off, the clock controller is in standby.
A Red LED indicates the card is disabled.
Always software and hardware disable an inactive clock controller (LD 60) in order to remove it!
Removing a CC card:
1. The clock controller must be on the inactive CPU side. If necessary, switch CPU's in LD 135: SCPU
2. Disable the clock controller card in LD 60:
- Single-CPU:
DIS CC x
disable clock controller, where x = 0 or 1
- Dual-CPU:
a. Check status, and if active switch clocks.
SSCK x
Get status of system clock, where x = 0 or 1SWCK
If the clock (for removal) is active, switch clocks
b. Make sure the other clock controller card is active and in free run mode.
SSCK x
Get status of system clock, where x = 0 or 1TRCK FRUN
Set clock controller tracking to free run
c. Disable the inactive clock controller.
DIS CC x
disable clock controller, where x = 0 or 1
3. Set the ENL/DIS switch to DIS, disconnect cables, and remove the card.
Caution: Always set ENL/DIS switches to DIS before disconnecting or connecting cables.
Installing a CC card:
1. Set the ENB/DIS switch to DIS on the replacement card.
2. Set option switches. (Refer to Avaya Circuit Card Reference).
3. Insert card, connect cables, and set the ENL/DIS switch to ENL
The faceplate LED flashes three times to indicate the self test has passed.
4. Software-enable the card: ENL CC x
In a Single-CPU system, the procedure is complete!
In a Dual-CPU system, continue with the following steps...
5. Switch CPUs in LD 135: SCPU
6. Activate the newly-installed card and verify that it is active in LD 60: SWCK, SSCK x
7. If applicable, issue a tracking command: TRCK aaa
"aaa" is PCK for track primary clock, SCLK for track secondary clock, or FRUN for free run mode.
Note: Configure the clock source to the status it was in before the replacement procedure.
8. Verify clock switch-over and tracking in LD 60: SWCK, SSCK x
. Reset the error counters: RCNT
.
Primary and secondary reference loops (PREF and SREF) are set in LD 73, FRUN is not sychronised (master).
CLKC300 errors:
If the following errors scroll, try disabling and re-enabling the NTRB53 with a forced download: ENL CC x FDL
