Off-Switch Transfer
Users cannot transfer calls to a destination that they cannot normally dial. This applies to both manual and automatic transfers (forwarding). In addition to call barring applied through short codes, the following settings may restrict a users ability to transfer calls. Note these options are all: Default = Off / unchecked / not enabled.
System Wide:
System ➤ Telephony
- Inhibit Off-Switch Forward/Transfer: When enabled, this setting stops any user from transferring or forwarding calls externally. Therefore, un-check it to allow external call-forward. Voicemail/VMPro needs this option un-checked in order to transfer callers off-site.
- Restrict Network Interconnect: When enabled, each trunk is provided with a Network Type option that can be configured as either Public or Private. The system will not allow calls on a Public trunk to be connected to a Private trunk and vice versa, returning busy indication instead.
- Conference Control: Users can use conferencing to effectively transfer an external call to another external number. This can be restricted using the Drop External Only Impromptu Conference setting.
User Specific:
User ➤ Telephony ➤ Supervisor Settings
- Outgoing Call Bar: When enabled, this setting stops a user from making any external calls. It therefore stops them making any external transfers or forwards.
- Inhibit Off-Switch Forward/Transfer: When enabled, this setting stops the specific user from transferring or forwarding calls externally. This does not stop another user transferring the restricted users calls off-switch on their behalf.
A set needs 2 or more Call Appearance buttons (default is 3: =a, =b, =c) to transfer or conference calls.
- Call Appearance Buttons are assigned under the User ➤ Button Programming tab
- each call appearance button can be used to make and/or receive calls.
Line Specific:
Line ➤ Analog Line ➤ Analog Options
- Analog Trunk to Trunk Connection: When not enabled, users cannot transfer or forward calls on one analog trunk back off-switch using another analog trunk. Trunk to trunk connections should never be enabled on unsupervised analog trunks.
