ICB Password Reset

Password Defaults:

Password Reset:

1. An administrator can reset any BUI password through the user management BUI, including that of another administrator.

2. When an administrator forget's their BUI password, and there is no other administrator, the password can be reset from Telnet/CLI (with the Level 1 username/password) by entering the following command: PAdmin/ABreset (abbreviated pa/ab). Enter yes when prompted, and all administrator BUI passwords (if more than one) are reset to 000000.

3. When system passwords are forgotten (eg, Telnet, FTP, and CLI Level 1), they can be displayed using the CLI Level 2 password.

4. When the CLI Level 2 password is forgotten, perform the following steps:

1. Connect a TTY (PuTTY, 9600,8,n,1) directly to the card's serial port.
2. Pull, and reseat the card to reset it, and watch the TTY output.
3. Wait for the following banner text to appear:

   ********************************************
   **          Running MAIN CODE!!!          **
   ********************************************
   

   Within 15 seconds, enter the word default. The bootup process continues, and more lines of text appear.
4. When the CLI is ready for input, enter the Level 2 username/password - eg, login: debug / password: <blank>
5. Enter PAdmin/PSweditor, abbreviated pa/ps, to display or modify the CLI names and passwords.
   OR, enter PAdmin/ABreset, abbreviated pa/ab, to reset all administrator passwords to 000000.
