Option 11 E&M Trunk Card
Configuration Example
Introduction
The following example shows how to configure a Nortel PBX Option 11 E&M Trunk Card, eg: NT8D15, to connect to a Cisco E&M voice port.
Hardware and Software Versions
To implement this configuration, you need the following:
- Nortel PBX Option 11
- Software Release 23 or later
- Nortel E&M Trunk Card, eg: NT8D15
Circuit types:
E&M trunks may be type 1 or type 2, two-wire or four-wire, immediate, wink, or delay dial start.
EMTY TY1/TY2 - type 1 or 2SIGL EAM/EM4 - 2 or 4-wireSTRI IMM/WNK/DDL - immediate, wink, or delay dial
Cross-connect:
A 25 pair line card cable is presented on BIX as follows, with 4 pairs per trunk interface:
| Unit 0 | Unit 1 | Unit 2 | Unit 3 | Not Used | ||||||||||||||||||||
| TX A B | RX A B | E M | B G |
TX A B | RX A B | E M | B G |
TX A B | RX A B | E M | B G |
TX A B | RX A B | E M | B G |
|||||||||
Notes:
- TX/RX=Voice pairs; E=Ear, M=Mouth, B=Signal Battery, G=Signal Ground
- 4-wire circuits use TX and RX pairs, 2-wire circuits use TX only (2-way)
- type 1 circuits use E&M signaling, type 2 circuits use E&M plus B&G
