Voice Item Maintenance (VIM)

With Voice Item Maintenance (VIM), you can use a telephone to remotely record voice items.

To use Voice Item Maintenance, you must know:

To define (or reset) a telset maintenance password:

  1. Open the application in Application Builder.
  2. Choose File ➤ Properties.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Check 'Telset maintenance password', enter and confirm the password in the password fields.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Save and close the application.
    Note: The minimum password length is set in the Security Administration section of CallPilot Manager.

Tasks in Voice Item Maintenance

You can perform the following tasks with Voice Item Maintenance:

Log on to Voice Item Maintenance:

  1. Dial Voice Item Maintenance (use the 'Prompt Maintenance' SDN).
  2. Enter the 'Application ID' of the application you want to edit, followed by #
  3. Enter the applications 'telset maintenance password', followed by #
  4. Enter the ID of the appropriate voice item, followed by #

Select another voice item

  1. Press 6.
  2. Enter the ID of the voice item, followed by #

Select another application

  1. Press 81.
  2. Enter the ID of the application, followed by #

Record voice items

  1. Press 5.
  2. Speak clearly to record your message.
  3. Press # to finish recording.
  4. To listen to the recording, press 2.
  5. To re-record, follow steps 1 to 3.
  6. To delete the recording, press 76.

Change the telset maintenance password

  1. Press 84.
  2. Enter the old password, followed by #
  3. Enter the new password, followed by #
  4. Enter the new password again, followed by #
    Note: The minimum length for a password is defined in the Security section of CallPilot Manager.
